As a Manager for the Freight Team, my goal has been to improve the efficiency and experiences of my team and fellow night managers. The FOTG is an application that focuses on organizing information needed for Freight Team and Freight Managers to improve the efficiency of the nightly freight processes.

Freight On The Go
Situation
During my tenure on the Freight Team, I have worked with and helped train four Night Operations Managers, all from roles outside of Freight. I noticed that most programs and information needed to perform the Freight Team process efficiently, from a manager's view, was unknown to both new and seasoned Managers. This is needed to improve the overall efficiency and experience of the Freight Team.
Task
My goal is to configure a way to improve the training process for Freight Team Managers, both new and tenured, that provides consistency in the knowledge and correct processes needed to perform their duties efficiently.

User Feedback
I began by conducting interviews with current NOASMs and NRMs with less than one year of experience working Freight. I then interviewed current NOASMs and NRMs with 1+ years of experience.
Based on my findings:
-
Young Managers ( 1yr< ) were unaware of all programs & information available to them, even after shadowing tenured NOASMs.
-
Tenured NOASMs & NRMs were either unaware or do not use the information provided to them due to information being scattered across multiple locations.
-
Across all interviews, there is an immense disconnect with communications
